Respect Yourself and Others by Saying No

Apr 30th, 2007 | By Suzanne | Category: Self-Care

One of the most empowering and respectful words in my vocabulary is the word ‘no’. Saying ‘no’ to the things that truly do not interest me, or serve me in any way, is extremely liberating (and extremely scary in the beginning!) Even more liberating is the realization that I’m not required to explain or justify [...]

Don’t Put the Time Management Cart Before the Horse

Apr 26th, 2007 | By Suzanne | Category: Self-Care

Success is simple, really:
1. Figure out what you want. (Set goals.)
2. List out all the steps to getting what you want. (Create an action plan.)

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”
- Steven R. Covey
This represents a huge shift in thinking for most of us. If we plan our time at all, we typically write out the to-do list based on the minutia of our lives and then we prioritize what shows [...]

Do You Have Some Weeding to Do?

Apr 3rd, 2007 | By Suzanne | Category: Accountability

Who are your friends? Do you have loving, supportive people in your life who expect the best from you? Or are your friends more of a pity party, people you go to just to vent and reinforcement that there’s nothing you can do about your problems except feel sorry for yourself?
The quality of your friends [...]
