What I Mean When I Say “Accept What Is”

Mar 31st, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Self-Care

A recurring theme this past week has been “accept what is.” I’ve had conversations with coaching clients about this concept and their questions led me to search for a better, clearer way to describe how to “accept what is” in everyday life, because I believe - no, I KNOW - this to be a key [...]

Is the Message You Send the Message You Intend?

Mar 24th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Accountability

It’s certainly a gross understatement to say relationships are complicated. Who we are and how we act are influenced by so many things seen and unseen, and the same is true for everyone else. Relating to others can feel like walking through a mine field. One misstep and boom! - something unexpected blows up in [...]

The Hidden Cost of What We Want

Mar 18th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Accountability

It’s spring break this week for my kids, so they’re home and any form of a schedule has gone completely out the window. Last night, my daughter asked if her friend could spend the night, and I agreed, mostly because she’s bored out of her skull and the weather has turned rainy and cold. At [...]

To Find Peace, Accept What Is

Mar 13th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Detachment

I came to the realization about 15 years ago that almost ALL of my ’suffering’ in life was caused by my resistance to ‘what is’. It hit me one day, that my misery was caused by me wanting things to be different than they were. I wanted the past to be different, but was stuck [...]

Because You Choose To, Not Because You Have To

Mar 9th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Accountability, Workshops

Would that we could do everything we do in life because we want to, not because we have to, huh? But I wonder - where are the ‘have to’ things coming from? As adults, who’s in charge of us, bossing us around, telling us what we ‘have to’ do?
No one.
Every day we make thousands of [...]

Setting Personal Boundaries Requires Support

Mar 5th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Accountability, Workshops

I think we can all agree that most things we set out to do are easier to do when we have support and guidance. Makes sense, right? Want to lose weight? We call our friend and commit to exercising together. We have a major life decision to make? We call on those closest to us [...]

Oprah’s “A New Earth” Online Class Brought Her Site To Its Knees Tonight

Mar 3rd, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Purpose

Not at all surprising, all the world-wide attendees brought Oprah.com to it’s knees this evening. The site “went dead” about 20 minutes into the class and ‘that was all she wrote for tonight’, as my dad would say.
When you think about it, I guess there’s really no way to ‘test’ for those kinds of conditions [...]

What Are You Waiting For?

Mar 3rd, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Taking Action

How much of your life have you spent waiting? All of us have to spend time waiting - waiting in line, waiting in traffic, waiting in the doctor’s office. That kind of waiting is part of life and not the kind of waiting I’m referring to. I’m talking about waiting to be happy, waiting to be fulfilled, waiting be loved, waiting to be prosperous, waiting to be somebody. This kind of waiting robs you of your life and is so unnecessary.

Thank You For Your Feedback!

Mar 2nd, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Announcements

Thank you to everyone who participated in the poll last week! Since we had just a few more people preferring the daytime over the evening, I’ll tell you what I’m going to do: BOTH!
We’ll have two free calls each month - one during the day (might not always be on Wednesdays) and one during the [...]
