When Answers Don’t Come Right Away
Jan 17th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Detachment | |When you’re trying to figure something out, decide what to do next, or have questions without ready answers, here’s a way to get help that’s always available to you. Put it in the night deposit box in your mind.
Huh?
Your mind, particularly your subconscious mind, is more powerful than you realize. It’s always working, always noticing, always processing information. Take advantage of that brain power and turn your problems, decisions and questions over right before you go to sleep. Mentally put those things in the ‘night deposit’ and let your mind work on them while you rest.
This may sound really hokey to you, but I can’t tell you how many times I have used this method with success! Back when I was a computer programmer, I joked with the president of the company that he should pay me when I’m sleeping, too, because I solved so many programming problems in my sleep! I’m not kidding. I’d go to sleep with a confounding programming problem on my mind. I’d consciously ‘deposit’ it and instruct my mind to ‘handle it’ while I slept. Countless times I woke up with the answer.
Try it. What’s the worst that could happen? Better yet, what’s the best that could happen?
