A 15-Minute Miracle - Dr. Joe Vitale

Jan 4th, 2008 | By Suzanne | Category: Gratitude | |

For me, 2007 was the year of “ohhh…so THAT’s what they’re talking about…Law of Attraction.” I have experienced the Law of Attraction my entire life, but last year was the year that warranted the ol’ V-8 forehead slap. It’s no surprise, looking back, actually. Last year was the first year I could pay such close attention in longer than I care to admit, thank you very much. No wonder the realizations started dawning and I was able to finally connect some major dots!

After yesterday’s video of Paul Potts (and I’m assuming you got goosebumps just like I did, not only because of his performance, but because here’s this everyday guy like you and me thinking he’s nothing special and then he blows it out of the park like that!), I’m thinking maybe some of you are a bit intimidated by the question I posed, “What are YOU capable of?”

I admit, I was myself…just a tad. That’s the effect authenticity seems to have on me these days. I mean, that’s what makes authenticity so special…it’s rarity. Clarity through contrast, right?

No doubt, some little voices probably started yapping in your head, talking about how you’re not that special, you have no amazing talent like that, and even if you did, you can’t wrap your head around the idea of taking it public in any way, shape or form. Your whole life would change and you’d find yourself living smack-dab in the middle of the Great Unknown. Comfort zone sirens going off all over the place. Oh no…you’ll take the Devil You Know over the Devil You Don’t Know any day of the week!

Remember, we’ve talked before about taking 100% responsibility for your life as a means of creating the life you REALLY want to live. So, of course, it’s going to be more than a bit daunting to answer, “What are YOU capable of?” with that idea staring you in the face.

Why? Control. Plain and simple.

When you put yourself out there like that, when you commit to being who you really are, you give up a lot of control (which, ha ha - the joke’s on you - it was an illusion all along, anyway!) It’s bigger and scarier because more people are looking, for one, and for two, just because you finally took a flying leap into the Great Unknown, it doesn’t mean you have all the answers all of a sudden. In fact, it could feel like there’s a cool breeze on your backside with your hiney all of a sudden exposed, and who wants all that??

So yeah - I went there myself a little. But then (and this is serendipity in action, folks) I start goin’ through my email to calm down a bit, and Tuck, bless her, has pointed me to:

A 15-Minute Miracle - Dr. Joe Vitale

Now, I’m breathin’ easy again. I “get it.” The Divine has my back - always has, always will. Duh. So, being 100% responsible for my life is pretty small potatoes, you know? Still a lot of work for this human, still much to learn and practice, but being reminded like that of Who’s got your back…well…Joe’s right. A warm feeling just washes all over and all through you.

Miracles abound.

  2. Jane,

THANK YOU so much for sharing those two videos. Incredible, incredible!

Here’s a funny: I was playing the first one, and my 14 y/o son comes in here with a strange look on his face. I said, “What?” He said, “Oh…nothin’. I thought you were on MY computer, that’s all.” All because he heard rap music playing. LOL

I like rap, but I’m very particular about what I listen to (would that we all were!) This video/song is perfect rap in my humble opinion because it blends excellent rap with an excellent message.

    Thanks again for sharing!

  3. Oh how thrilling!

    Sensational

Love that you opened the videos with an open-mind.

I will share your story, because, that is part of its ‘on purpose’ nature. How many 14 year olds will listen to the same message wrapped in strings, flutes, bells, pan pipes, piano, om’s, … ?

How much can most 14 year olds relate to that?

And does that represent the sound of their environment?

Could ’spiritual’ messages be offered by more and more diverse intercultural messengers?

    Less tradition and more transformation?

Is hip hop less spiritual than classical?

What are young people listening to?

Do we have to go to church to pray?

Do we have to sit under a bodhi tree to meditate?

Do we ‘judge a book by its cover’?

Do we judge or do we listen?

Could we practice more non-judgemental acceptance?

    What gets my attention?

These are some of many questions I ask myself!

So many young people are listening to this first CYRES track and it is opening up incredible dialogues. Really juicy discussions that stimulate thought.

We’ve enjoyed the same experience. Playing the music and young people have then come up to us and said, what is that saying? What does it mean? I like positive hip hop. Etc.

Yes it matters to be conscious about what we listen to.

It matters that your voice is heard.

Thank You for listening. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for being you.

    The message is from Love.
