If You Don’t Like Something, Change It!

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”
- Maya Angelou

How much more peace would you have in your life if you adopted this as your motto? Instead of venting about it, do something about it! Step up and take it as an opportunity to make a difference. Set yourself apart as someone who takes initiative and is solution-oriented. You’ll feel better knowing you’re doing something about it, and you’ll have the added benefit of yet another accomplishment under your belt.

What if you can’t change it? Change your attitude about it. Accept what is and let go of wishing it was different. You don’t have to like it, but neither do you have to let it make you crazy. If you didn’t cause it, can’t control it, and can’t change it, then let it go.

You’ve heard me say it before, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” You don’t control everything in your life, so of course you’re going to come up against things you don’t like, things that hurt you and leave you feeling pain. What you do from there determines how much you will suffer as a result.
